There's a new judge in town on "America's Got Talent," and she's just the right fit for the job: NBC confirmed Monday that "Project Runway" host Heidi Klum would be joining the talent competition series as a fourth judge, the first time the panel has been expanded to include that number.
"Heidi has an amazing career across multiple media platforms, and has built a brand that is a force in the entertainment business," said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming for NBC in a press release.
"She has achieved superstardom while balancing being a businesswoman and hard-working mom, bringing a huge amount of experience,?discernment and taste to the panel," Telegdy said. "As we look to develop an act that will get the world's attention, we and the contestants will benefit from Heidi's international sensibility and understanding of what works in today's global entertainment industry."
Klum joins other judges Howard Stern, Howie Mandel and Mel B for what will be the series' eighth season. She's already had years of reality show experience, having parlayed her supermodel career into "Project Runway," where she's hosted and evaluated designers for 11 seasons.
Klum seemed excited to expand her schedule with one more TV show, noting in the release, "America's got some serious 'Talent!' I'm really excited to join the panel of 'AGT' to see it all -- from the ridiculous to the fantastic. I love the surprise element of the show and not knowing what we'll see next and who will wow us. I'm also looking forward to spending time with my fellow judges!"
