Three-Point Shootout All-Time Bracket: Larry Bird, Craig Hodges, Mark Price Vie To Be Greatest Marksman

"Who's coming in second?"

As Craig Hodges remembers it, those were the words that kicked off what became one of the signature events in the NBA's annual All-Star Weekend in 1986. Two years after the NBA's version of the Slam Dunk Contest debuted in Denver (where the ABA pioneered the event in 1976), the top three-point marksmen in the game convened at Reunion Arena in Dallas.

In the midst of winning three straight NBA MVP Awards, Larry Bird arrived at All-Star Weekend with his signature swagger and then some, as Hodges recalled to ESPN in 2010.

"All of a sudden, he says, 'Man, who's comin' in second?'"

True to his boast, Bird won the event in its first three years before sitting out in 1989. After Dale Ellis captured the '89 title in Houston, Hodges reeled off three consecutive wins of his own.

In filling out the remainder of this bracket of NBA marksmen to compete in this mythic all-time three-point shootout, the more apt question might be "Who's coming in third?"

Joining Hodges and Bird are two-time winners Mark Price, Peja Stojakovic, Jeff Hornacek and Jason Kopono. Rounding out the field are a pair of the other purer shooters to hoist the money ball.

Who will win it all?
